Ingredients for the preparation of chicken jalfrezi

  • 2 no Finely chopped onion
  • 1 no Diced onion
  • 2 no Finely chopped garlic cloves
  • 1- inch Finely chopped ginger
  • 500 g boneless skinless chicken
  • 1 tsp Red chilli powder
  • ½ tsp Turmeric powder
  • 2 no Finely chopped tomatoes
  • 1 no Diced capsicum
  • 1 tsp Cumin powder
  • 2 tsp Coriander powder
  • 2 tbsp Finely chopped coriander leaves
  • 1 tsp Crushed kasoori methi
  • Salt
  • Oil

Instructions
 

Method to prepare chicken jalfrezi recipe

  • Heat a thick bottomed pan, as it heats add 2 tbsp oil, as the oil heats add 2 dinely chopped onion, 2 finley chopped garlic cloves, 1 -inch finely chopped ginger and fry well.
  • Add 2 finely chopped tomatoes and mix well.
  • Add 1 tsp red chilli powder, ½ tsp turmeric powder, 1 tsp cumin powder, 2 tsp coriander powder and mix well.
  • Add the cleaned 500g of chicken pieces and mix well.
  • Add ½ tsp salt.
  • Add around 1/ 4 cup water and mix well.
  • Cover and cook the chicken for 15 to 20 minutes on medium flame.
  • Meanwhile stir fry diced onion and capsicum in a pan with oil.
  • Add the stir fried veggies to the chicken and mix well.
  • Cook the chicken until the gravy thickens.
  • Add salt if required.
  • Do not add too much water.
  • When the chicken is cooked add 1 tsp crushed kasoori methi and mix well.
  • Add finely chopped coriander leaves and mix well.
  • Enjoy the hot and spicy chicken jalfrezi with rice or roti.
